WHIPTAIL MIDSTREAM OPERATIONS

What We Do

Whiptail Midstream currently operates a crude oil, natural gas, and water gathering system in the San Juan Basin in northwest New Mexico that spans three New Mexico counties (San Juan, Rio Arriba, and Sandoval). This gathering system was built to handle growing production from the Gallup oil play in the southern portion of the basin. Whiptail continues to grow the system organically as activity progresses in the basin to service our existing and new customers.

Whiptail’s San Juan Gallup assets include:

  • Approximately 500 miles of pipeline to transport crude oil, natural gas and water production in the San Juan Gallup oil play.
  • Two crude oil Central Delivery Points (CDPs) with total delivery capacity of 50,000 BPD.
  • Six natural gas Central Delivery Points (CDPs two downstream processors with total delivery capacity of 150 MMcfd.
  • One Central Compression Facility with a capacity of 35 MMcfd.
  • Four produced water Central Delivery Points and two Salt Water Disposal (SWD) wells with current gathering and disposal capacity of 8,000 BPD with plans to expand to 12,000 BPD.
